How To Set Objectives

To dream is necessary in the life of every person. Without dreams, there is no motivation, action, stimulation, desire. Without dreams, we lose the ability to grow, to seek, to progress.

Dreaming is beyond the verb. It is the action that drives our emotions, our will and our way, that affects  our willingness to: stop, plan, reflect.

To define what motivates us is the first step in establishing the way we desire to tread. When we think about which way we aim to walk, either in the personal, professional or academic life, it is necessary to establish goals and means for achieving them. These goals should be for the purpose of guiding us (over time) in order to achieve what we have designed for us. To define life goals, it is necessary to analyze what we want to achieve, how we can achieve it, and how long it will take to achieve it.

In order to transform dreams into viable goals it is paramount to establish small actions and specific targets thataimtowards your big dream.. When our dream leaves the field of ideas it can affect our attitude and positively influence our life and career.

The objectives can be planned in:

·         Short term goals (priority): are those made within 3 months to a year. These goals require little planning, and in some cases you just need to arrange a time in your schedule to fulfill them;

·         Medium term objectives (important): 1-5 years. These goals require a greater effort to be fulfilled. An effective way to achieve is to set short term goals to achieve them;

·         Long-term goals (desirable) achieved in a period of 5 to 10 years. These goals can be compared to a vision of the future, and to be achieved within the given time, it is necessary to establish viable strategies, and must also be evaluated constantly, in order not to be forgotten by the time.

Classify goals by: priority, importance and desirability, then consider what strategies or means will be needed to achieve the objectives set, as well as the timing.

Transforming a dream into a viable action by setting goals and strategies, is a powerful way to turn something subjective (your dream), into something possible (your goal).
